I love this so much—and now I really, REALLY need to hear more about the middle-of-the-night drive to Reno, the nearly collapsing booth, and pretty much everything else you mentioned.
What an inspiring collaboration you and Eunice have created. Bravo!
Thank you! For the trade show, we decided to make our booth with canvas walls (because we could roll them up and check them in with our luggage-- brilliant, right?) Most people pay union trade show workers to build foam core walls. We were going to be thrifty! Resourceful! Creative! Our next stroke of genius was to attach our greeting card display to the canvas with duct tape. Because duct tape can do anything, right? No. No, it cannot. A senior Martha Stewart Editor (who everyone desperately wanted to impress in a pathetically fawning way) sidled into our booth, and EVERYTHING started falling off the walls, fuzzy-duct-tape-side up, with awkward plops. The moment she would shift her gaze away from the gaping blank spaces that were left behind, we would frantically grab the cards and slap them back up. It was the longest 30 seconds of our trade show lives!
It might have been the longest 30 seconds of your trade show lives, but it makes for a great story, and fortunately no one was hurt. Thank you for the laugh!
I love learning more about you both and love your intentionality about honoring each other! It delights my heart to see you thriving in your relationship and your work!
I love this! I love those questions that guide your creative process. What a great reminder - thank you! 😊
Thank you! So glad it was helpful!
