The Golden Bowl with Sabrina Moyle
Welcome, friends!
Golden wha? I’ll start with the earnest explanation.
The Golden Bowl is the space between me and you. Any relationship is a third entity that we fill up and draw from, separate from each other but connected. What we offer mixes together into a delightful brew because we each see things differently.
In any relationship, the Golden Bowl contains it all. I want this space to be that for us – the Golden Bowl into which I place my offerings, and into which you can place yours.
The Golden Bowl is a place to be nourished, a communion. A brief break, a place to sip, drink, and be inspired. It reflects the light in each of us.
And now for the humorous explanation.
When you flush a toilet with the lid up, tiny poo particles spray everywhere, including on that toothbrush you left beside the sink. These invisible poo particles, also known as “farticles,” end up everywhere. The same goes for your big feelings and whatever stress you’re processing right now. The Golden Bowl is a safe place to contain, purify and flush.
Why this newsletter? Why now? I write books to empower, entertain, and inspire children. As I like to say, “where there is humor, there is hope.” 28 books, 8 languages, and 1.4 million copies later, I’ve come to understand that, all along, I have been wittingly, wittily writing for grownups, too.
I want this to be a space where you feel safe, seen, and supported, because being a grownup is hard and lonely. The work is never done and sometimes we fall waaaay back. We never stop needing a safe space to come home to.
In this newsletter, I’ll use humor, deep thoughts, and tidy tools to navigate the messy, sprawling process of growing ourselves up, nourishing sturdy humans, and building healthy, happy family systems – including our partners, children, siblings, parents, ancestors, and descendants.
I’ll share behind-the-scenes lore from our children’s books; weed-whacking essays on personal growth; peeks behind the curtain of current creative projects; froth from the fount of wisdom; affirmations, ideas and pep talks; and writing, publishing, and creative business tips.
